Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 August 2023

These Terms of Service apply to the use of the CompareConcrete.co.uk website and services. The service is intended for both consumers and businesses in need of concrete. The purpose of the service is to help customers compare concrete prices by obtaining quotes from multiple suppliers. The Service Provider (CompareConcrete.co.uk, operated by Nokos Oy) is committed to providing an error-free and useful service to its users.

1. Service Provider and Scope
The Service Provider (hereinafter “Provider”) refers to CompareConcrete.co.uk (Nokos Oy, Business ID 2987219-5, Hämeentie 17 B 55, 00500 Helsinki, Finland). CompareConcrete.co.uk provides an online platform that connects concrete buyers (“Customers”) with concrete suppliers (“Suppliers”). By using the site or submitting a quote request, you (“Customer”) agree to these terms.

2. Role of the Provider
The Provider’s role is to forward the Customer’s concrete quote request details to relevant concrete suppliers and to facilitate communication. The Provider is not responsible for any errors, quality issues, incorrect concrete deliveries, or other issues caused by third-party suppliers. The Provider does not guarantee any particular outcome or price from the quote comparison.

3. Submitting a Quote Request
By filling in and sending the quote request form, the Customer gives the Provider the right to forward the information they provided to selected concrete suppliers. The Customer should provide accurate project information to receive the most accurate quotes. The service (website and related services) is provided “as is”. While we strive to ensure all information on the site is accurate and up-to-date, the Provider is not liable for any errors or direct or indirect damages arising from the use of the information or the service.

4. User Responsibilities
Customers must follow any usage instructions provided on the site. The Provider is not liable for issues arising because a user did not adhere to the guidance or terms. The Provider is not responsible for the results of the quote comparisons themselves or the performance of any third-party suppliers. Any agreements for concrete supply or services are strictly between the Customer and the chosen Supplier.

The Provider also disclaims responsibility for the content of third-party websites linked through CompareConcrete.co.uk. We cannot guarantee the security or confidentiality of messages sent via open networks (for example, the internet). Ensuring that communications (such as quote request submissions) reach their intended recipient is the user’s responsibility. The Provider is not liable for the integrity or unaltered state of messages transmitted through the site, nor for technical failures or interruptions.

5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Provider shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the CompareConcrete service or website. In all cases, the Provider’s liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by applicable mandatory law.

6. Modifications and Termination
The Provider reserves the right to modify these terms or discontinue the service at any time. Significant changes to terms will be communicated on the website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The Provider may terminate or suspend a user’s access if there is suspicion of misuse or violation of these terms.

7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland (as the service operator’s domicile) and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Finnish courts, unless otherwise required by local consumer protection laws.

Supplier Portal

Last updated: 9 May 2025

These terms apply to the use of the CompareConcrete Supplier Portal by concrete suppliers and their representatives.

1. Service Description
Provider: CompareConcrete.co.uk (operated by Nokos Oy, Business ID 2987219-5).
Supplier (also “User” in this context): A company selling ready-mix concrete that has access to the portal (represented by its employee or agent).
Customer: An individual or entity using CompareConcrete.co.uk to request quotes or order ready-mix concrete and/or related work.

The KB Portal provides a platform where Suppliers can view Customer quote requests, submit quotes for those requests, and review accepted deals. The portal facilitates communication and the quotation process between concrete buyers and sellers. CompareConcrete (the Provider) acts as an intermediary for transmitting quote requests. The Provider is not responsible for errors, quality issues, incorrect deliveries or other harm caused by either party in the transaction (neither Customer nor Supplier). The portal simply streamlines the interaction. Further usage instructions for the portal are provided within the portal’s help section.

2. Registration and User Accounts
Suppliers gain access to the portal by requesting access (signing up) and having a user account created (typically via an email invitation or registration link). Users are responsible for providing accurate information during sign-up and must keep their login credentials secure. The portal uses a password-free login system; nevertheless, any unique login links or authentication methods provided must be safeguarded. Users are accountable for all actions taken under their portal access.

3. Quote Requests in the Portal
Quote requests visible in the portal are those submitted by Customers through CompareConcrete.co.uk. Suppliers can view these requests and choose to respond by submitting a quote. There is no obligation for a Supplier to respond to any given quote request; participation is voluntary and at the Supplier’s discretion.

4. Submitting Quotes
When submitting a quote via the portal, the Supplier should do so before the deadline specified by the Customer. Quotes must include the total price or a price estimate covering the concrete plus any delivery and pumping costs (i.e. a quote should be as all-inclusive as possible). After submitting a quote, a Supplier may modify or withdraw their quote through the portal up until the Customer accepts one or the quote deadline passes.

5. Deal Confirmation and Commission
A sale is considered confirmed when a Customer marks a Supplier’s quote as “Accepted” in the system. If a deal falls through after acceptance (for example, if the project is cancelled), the Supplier must inform the Provider so that commission is not charged.

  • The Provider charges the Supplier a commission of 5% on each accepted quote (i.e. 5% of the concrete order value that was quoted and accepted). The Supplier must ensure they have the authority to agree to this on behalf of their company.

  • Commission is only payable when a quote leads to a successful deal. Browsing requests and sending quotes are free.

  • The Provider will invoice Suppliers for the commissions on a quarterly basis (every 3 months) for all deals marked as completed in that period.

If a Customer accepts a quote, the related quote request will automatically be marked as closed in the portal. Customers also have the right to reject all quotes or cancel their request; in such cases, the request will be marked closed without any accepted deal (and of course no commission).

6. Limitation of Liability (Portal)
The portal service is provided “as is” without warranties of uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. The Provider is not liable for any damages resulting from the use of or inability to use the portal. This includes, but is not limited to, lost profits, business interruption, or loss of data. The Provider’s liability, in any case, shall not exceed the limits set by applicable mandatory law.

7. Proper Use of the Portal
The portal may only be used for lawful purposes related to genuine business of selling and supplying concrete. Users agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Users must not input or transmit any offensive, unlawful, or inappropriate material through the portal. The Provider reserves the right to revoke access for any misuse of the portal.

8. Privacy and Data Protection
The Provider adheres to applicable data protection laws (such as UK GDPR/Data Protection Act) in handling personal data of Users and Customers. Personal data accessed or stored in the portal (e.g. Customer contact details in quote requests) must be handled confidentially and in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Users (Suppliers) shall also handle any personal information of Customers in compliance with data protection laws. By using the portal, you also agree to our Privacy Policy [link].

9. Modifications
The Provider may update these portal terms as needed. Significant changes will be communicated via the portal or email. Continued use of the portal constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
